Hi there!

I’m Julia Vermeulen; a Dutch photographer and storyteller. Ever since I was little, I was obsessed with capturing life. It didn’t matter how; drawing, writing, or taking pictures. When I turned eight my parents got me my first camera and I took it with me everywhere. It was safe to say I’ve been hooked on photography ever since.

 

I’ve studied photography at the Fotovakschool in Amsterdam. Having finished my education there, I packed my bags and moved to the Lofoten Islands, Norway. It had been my dream for years to study nature photography there and in 2020 I finally got the opportunity to do so at the Lofoten Folkehøgskole. The ten magical months I got to spend there shaped me into the photographer I am today.

Since 2024 I'm a registered freelancer, specialising in photography, photo-editing, and content creation. I love meeting new people and hearing their stories, as bringing your visions to life makes my work truly worth it!
